How To Get 5x More People to Finish Your Course (Which Could 5x Your Income)

What’s going on guys? Mike Buontempo here. I wanted to shoot this video for you today and go over lists and getting your customers to go through more of your content, go through more courses. Something that’s very interesting, I learned this at a digital marketer event, is … I’m pretty sure he said the percentage of people that go through a marketing or a personal development course, like the full thing, is 5%. It’s 5% of people that buy your course will go through it, okay?

Now what they did was they changed everything around to be a certification course, and everything was step by step. Literally, you had steps. In my course, I have a six step program, and then I have steps after that. So what you want to do, if you want people to consume more of your content, you have to do it step by step by step. It cannot be disorganized. If you’re the entrepreneur in your business, you might be disorganized, but for the average consumer, they want things step by step. Step one, do this then check a box. Step two, do this. Check a box. Step three, check a box.

So what I’ve been implementing in my business the past couple days is more steps. So they go through the first six steps, now let me put another six steps after that. If your goal after the first six steps, or whatever it is, is to sell a product, then you do that. And then you have them go through a step seven. What I did was for step seven they go through a whole video, and then I actually quiz them on something.

Russell Brunson went over this in one of his recent podcasts, that you have to give people little achievements to do before they eat a full elephant. So there’s this big elephant that everybody wants to … Whatever. Make money online, build a sales funnel, build a business. If you look at it as a big elephant, it’s extremely hard to eat that whole thing in one sitting. But, if you give somebody step by step on how to do it, it’s a lot more manageable. Plus, if you give them quizzes, if you give them little things to do … If you give 100 steps and at the end of it they make a $100,000, if you did one step a day with that person, they’re going to figure it out. Now if you just told them, “Hey listen, go do this for a 100 days,” it’s not going to work. You’re not going to be able to get them to where they need to be. If you want more people to finish your courses, if you want to have more people consume your content … And the more people that consume your content, the more money you’re going to make.

Have things in a step by step format, guys. Have quizzes after they do a video. We’re getting anywhere from 50 to 60 percent of our people to finish our course. I had a course on how to drive traffic with fan pages. Like they said, it was maybe 5 to 10 percent of people would finish it. Now we’re up to 50 to 60 percent of people are going through the whole course, which is great. We five times the amount of people that are going through the business, and we pitch license to our business on step six. So now we have five times the amount of people that are actually going to get pitched. So if you want to make more money, chop things up into specific steps, add some quizzes in there and hold people accountable. You’re going to make more, you’re going to see a lot happier customers, and you’re going to do well.
